IMRT provides the precision of the urologists knife with the gentle touch of the artist's paint brush. This gives us the ability to precisely conform and modulate the intensity of the radiation beam according to the exact 3D tumor size, shape, and metobolic activity with avoidance of surrounding critical structures.
Using this technique, we can now treat tumors safely with higher doses of radiation, which should result in improved cure rates.
